So, there you have it. There is plenty to debate here, which is why I love predictions, but nothing is too terribly off the wall. Any of the three teams – Mets, Braves, or Phils – could win the NL East, just as the Padres could take the NL West if the Dodgers fail to find the offensive sparkplug they need. The Twins could take the AL Central if they stay healthy (looking at you Byron Buxton!) and the Guardians stumble. Who knows…some team could come out of nowhere and take the league by storm. That’d be fun for sure.

Pitching is the determining factor in each division, as far as I am concerned. The teams that stay healthy and run the same guys out to the mound week after week have the best chance to win. Sounds simple, sure, but the increasing number of shoulder and elbow injuries that we continue to see on every team makes it anything but.

I do, however, think we will see our first repeat champion since the Yankees dynasty of the late 1990’s. Houston – even with the departures of key players – is simply too strong, has plenty of firepower in the minors to supplement its already potent offense, and will just continue winning until someone learns how to stop them. I don’t see a team in the AL or NL that can do that at the moment.

Here’s to a fantastic 2023 season to everyone out there who reads this. May the best team win!

*While the predictions are indeed Grade-A and Super Awesome, they are in no way 100 percent guaranteed to be accurate. I’m good, but not that good!
