The Jumbo Shrimp venture to Norfolk for the first time this week to resume their season-long rivalry with the Tides.
Clayton Freeman from the Florida Times-Union has a short preview of the series this week, which I would absolutely recommend. The teams play Tuesday through Sunday (6:35 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:05 p.m. Thursday, 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1:05 p.m. Sunday).
And, as you can tell, I love that the teams are engaged in the Navy Town Showdown. The fact that they have something to play for this season – given the lack of playoffs – is fantastic. We need more rivalries like this in Minor League Baseball.
