Jacksonville to be Marlins’ Alternate Training Site

While we wait for the start of the Triple-A season on May 4, the Marlins will be using Jacksonville’s 121 Financial Ballpark as their Alternate Site once the MLB season starts on April 1. No idea whether fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the practices and intra-squad games, but I’m sure folks will do what they can to catch a glimpse or two of their baseball heroes. While Jupiter might have been more convenient to Miami for instant call-ups, the fact that the lower level minor league teams begin training there immediatey after the big leaguers leave pretty much meant that Jax was going to be the spot to ensure that the extended roster wasn’t exposed to Covid-19 by a new batch of players. Welcome to Jacksonville fellas!
