The first road game for the Jumbo Shrimp this season went just as they planned: Use a first inning 2-run monster home run by Jesús Sánchez and a third inning 2-run triple by Monte Harrison to jump out to a 4-0 lead, and then let quality pitching keep the Bulls in check long enough to win the game. Simple, right? Well, planned or not, it worked as the Jumbo Shrimp claimed their fifth win on the season and now sit at 5-2.

The Shrimp were fielding two “new” players in the form of Jazz Chisholm, Jr. and Jorge Alfaro, both of whom are on rehab assignment from the Marlins. Their presence only added to the potent Jacksonville lineup.
As noted above, the Shrimp were paced by Sánchez and Harrison, each with a huge hit and 2 RBIs. Sánchez is now batting .571 with an OPS of 1.779. Amazing. His at-bats are now appointment watching for Shrimp fans as he has become a one-man highlight reel.
On the mound for the Shrimp, Shawn Morimondo was very good over his 4 innings of work. He struck out eight, walked four. Preston Guilmet claimed the win for his two innings of relief work.
Dalton Kelly led the way for the Bulls with a home run and single. Joe Ryan took the loss for Durham, allowing four runs against five strikeouts over his five innings of work.
The teams are back at it early on Wednesday for a 1:05 on start. Nick Neidert takes the mound for the Shrimp.
